Sumatran beans are very low in acidity and feature a heavy body with some distinct chocolaty undertones. Dark Sumatra is very popular in the American Northwest, and is a regular offering of some of the finest coffee shops.
This dark-roasted coffee displays a complex range of aromas: maple syrup, chocolate, and toasted almond. The cup is smooth and full-bodied with an earthy, plum, at times wine-like nuance that settles into rich, lingering dark chocolate finish.
An excellent cup, whether prepared with the french press or drip brew method.
